Southeastern Oklahoma State Universitys Admissions and Recruitmentinvites applications for the position of Admissions Counselor/UniversityRecruiter in Durant, OK.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the recruitment, advisement, admission,and matriculation of prospective students to Southeastern Oklahoma StateUniversity. This position is primarily responsible for increasingincoming freshman and transfer student enrollment to the university.This position is expected to present the University in a positive andeffective manner. The Admissions Counselor/University Recruiter must beable to effectively convey to a diverse constituency the features andbenefits of the University.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately process applications for admission ensuring federal, state,and university policies are followed. Evaluate required documentsincluding transcripts, standardized test scores, and other academicrecords to determine admissions eligibility.
Provide accurate and timely notification of admissions decisions andother information prior to, during, and after the admissions process iscomplete.
Advise prospective students by providing individualized assistance withidentifying educational goals, major selection, and assessment ofentry-level skills, scholarships, and financial aid planning. Correspondwith students providing guidance, resources, or referrals to otheruniversity resources.
Recruit new and returning students to the university by providingaccurate and timely information regarding admissions policies toprospective students, parents, high school counselors, teachers, andadministrators.
Represent the University at high schools, community colleges, collegefairs, the university, and other public functions. This includes makingpresentations and speaking about the university to prospective studentsand parents in order to achieve enrollment goals.
Conduct campus tours and provide knowledgeable and professionalrepresentation of the university with students during tours and campusevents.
Assist with entering and updating the prospect file, preparation, andprocessing mass mailing operations, and evaluating incoming mail in atimely manner.
Advise prospective and current students on general admission documentsand processes.
Assist with the True-Blue Ambassador Program by providing training,attending regular meetings, and assisting with any additionalactivities.
Assist with planning and executing university recruitment events,programs, and campaigns.
Advise the Vice President for Enrollment Management and/or the AssistantDirector on significant matters and support other members of the officein their goals and operational purposes.
Interpret and ensure compliance with OSRHE and University admissionpolicies regarding all aspects of student admissions, including studentfiles.
Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment Managementand/or Assistant Director.
Some night and weekend work is required.
Travel is required.
