The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career with the experience of working with a Global technology company, based in Singapore. This position is responsible for timely and accurate monthly accounting reporting under US GAAP for various subsidiary companies’ financial books in APAC region, as well as provide various reports for business review and forecast purposes. This incumbent is also to ensure local GAAP statutory reporting dateline is met against all odds. With the growth mindset, this position will be a key player in implementing improvements to enhance our process and ensure compliance around recording transactions while focusing on a Global standard and other special projects.
The Main Responsibilities
Prepares monthly accounting journal and reporting responsibilities for Cash Function under US GAAP for APAC countries book. The main activities would be open items management.
Prepares monthly variance analysis and commentary for Cash Function for APAC countries entities.
Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations schedule for Cash Function as per the Group timetable
Collaborations with the US Corporate function team and follow up with stakeholders to assist with the correct accounting treatment
Provides support to the annual US GAAP audit and quarterly review processes to ensure consistency of accounting and clean balance sheet monthly positions
Participates in the yearly external audit and tax reporting compliance – draft and provide financial statements, balance sheets and any local statutory reports timely and accurately
Identify efficiencies and automation opportunities. Working closely with team members, broader Finance teams and partners to deliver these improvements / the change management aspect of these initiatives
Contribute and collaborate as an active member of a team in achieving common goals, solving problems, developing “win-win” solutions, and assuming joint accountability to drive results/outcomes
What We Look For in a Candidate
Several years of experience within similar sized entities or from an accounting firm
Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and financial reporting requirements
Microsoft Office – intermediate to advanced Excel
Experience of any large ERP system
Excellent time management skills and strong sense of accountability to meet deadlines
Commercially astute, with good planning / organising skills. High attention to detail with a motivation to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a desire to grow in a real team environment that has a flat structure
Preferred Requirements:-
A Professional Accounting Qualification or studying for
Experience of SAP
US GAAP, IFRS and other APAC countries GAAPs reporting experience would be an advantage
