$20/hour rate of pay & $3,000 sign on bonus after 9 months of employment!
The US Specialist is responsible to provide emergency counseling, initial case management, and day to day supervision and monitoring of UAC sent to the US Program. Specialist must be able to communicate proficiently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide nurturing care and management of childrens everyday living requirements.Provide therapeutic care and sensitive management of the special needs of children and youth in care; when necessary, appropriate crisis intervention consistent with training guidelines (e.g. from Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, appropriate use of Life Space Interview procedures, alternatives to restraint, and use of appropriate restraint techniques).Creating a learning environment in the shelter with consistent attention to the teaching relationship between US Youth Specialist and youth. Active support and collaboration with the school.Accountability for orderly management and safety of the shelter daily living routines, individual youth, groups and therapeutic programs.Use of self to model appropriate behaviors for example, respect for others, appropriate dress, appropriate conflict resolution, etc..Knowledge of the content of the ORR DUCS Policy and Procedures Manual.Appropriate handling and reporting of all untoward incidents in accordance with agency policy and training. Provides Program Orientation to new resident and completes Intake Form.Attending case conferences and other team meetings.Carrying out Primary Counselor responsibilities, as assigned.
