JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SUMMARY The YHDP System Navigator provides asingle point of contact for youth and young adults to help navigatecomplex systems in addition to identifying housing needs. The YHDPSystem Navigator will also support and facilitate the local youth actiongroup to ensure that authentic youth voice continues to inform projectdesign and become integrated into decision-making within the local.RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Meeting youth where they are and walking themthrough complex systems of care they need to access, alongwithaddressing their housing needs. This includes assessment of serviceneeds and case management 2. Outreach and market the services to youthin the community through social media, flyers, educational trainings forthe community and relationship building with providers who work with theyouth and young adults experiencing or are at risk 3. Create a robustresource binder of all information about community resources that isaccessible for all youth 4. Facilitate training and discussion withstakeholder and other community partners around the unique needs andbarriers experienced by youth in the community 5. Communicate regularlywith CoC staff about barriers and issues youth are having accessingresources 6. Advocate for change at the local coalition and CoC levelwith support from CoC staff 7. Support the local Youth Advisory Board(YAB) by facilitating meetings, reviewing and approving reimbursements,recruitingyouth to participate in the local YAB, identifying additionalleadership opportunities and being the point of contact between thelocal YABand the CoC Staff, specifically the Project Coordinator 8.Ensure all services are provided through a positive youth development,trauma informed, harm reduction, housing first lens 9. Attend YHDPSystem Navigator meetings conducted by the CoC Project Coordinator 10.Enter required data in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)11. Work with the local coalition to ensure that authentic youth voiceis integrated into all local decision-making processes 12. Other dutiesas assigned ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'s degree in a human service-related fieldand/or experience working with youth experiencing homelessness. 1.Preference for someone between the ages of 18-24 with lived youthhomelessness experience 2. Ability to effectively communicate, bothwritten and verbally, in the English language 3. Must have reliabletransportation and valid driver\'s license with good driving record 4.Must carry own auto insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000coverage 5. Ability to maintain records and document case notes daily 6.Ability to give and accept feedback as a part of a team 7. Ability totraverse within the workspace and community frequently 8. Be willing tolearn and work with the treatment philosophies 9. Ability to workindependently 10. Demonstrated effectiveness building relationships andestablishing trust 11. General computer skills, including understandingof Microsoft applications, including Excel and Google Docs 12.Organizational, planning, and coordination skills 13.
