Job Overview
The Skin & Wound Nurse will function as the clinical resource and role modelresponsible for quality of nursing practice & standards of care related tothe delivery of patient care for patient skin, wound care, and ostomymanagement. Assists and educates the nursing staff providing the day to daycare: risk assessments, potential for healing, and wound care productselection. Assists the manager in leading, planning, controlling andevaluating nursing practices and operations as it relates to skin, wound andostomy care. Develops and maintains quality improvement activities andrecommends/implements program changes as appropriate. Devises effectivecontrol mechanisms to ensure that the physical environment fosters safepatient care. Ensures a review of all case files relating to bad patientoutcomes within an assigned unit. Develops and oversees the implementation ofmulti-disciplined Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) nursing.

Department: CSH Wound Ostomy NursingHours per week: Full time and part time opportunities available, pleasediscuss preferences with hiring manager. Eligible for benefits.Shift: Current business needs do not require nights, weekends, holidaysor on-call but could adjust if business needs change. Shifts would be either 8or 10 hours. Potential remote work opportunity after completion of orientationand training.This position is eligible for relocation assistance, if relocating from 100miles or greater.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelorof Science (BSN) & Graduate of an accredited Wound, Ostomy &Continence Nursing Education Program within 12 months of hire.EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years clinical experience with minimum of 2 years pediatricor WOC experience required. Basic computer skills required. Excellent customerservice and communication skills with hospital/clinic staff, children,parents and visitors. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Demonstratedability to prioritize and organize tasks in a fast-paced setting. Excellentwritten and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and as a teamEQUIVALENCY: BSN may be waived in lieu of enrollment in an accredited BSNprogram within one year of accepting the position and BSN degree completionwithin a period of three years.CERTIFICATION(S):Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Emergency NursingPediatric Course (ENPC) in specific departments.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American HeartAssociationWound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification (CWOCN) within 18 months ofhire.LICENSURE(S): Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
