About Work Control Specialist

  Our team is looking for an organized and analytical professional. A successful candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills to support a rewarding customer mission.

  This is full time position providing operational mission support.

  Summary

  In addition to meeting the necessary qualifications the selected candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic and high-energy environment. This position will be based in Japan, primarily at a customer location aboard MCAS Iwakuni in support of a Base Operations & Support contract with the Department of Defense (DoD)/Navy- Marine Corps.

  Performance Location: The individual filling this position will be supporting Amentum on a contract for the US Department of Defense and working at the Marine Corp Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan.

  Working Environment: Non-SOFA assignment

  Work Schedule: This position works eight hours/day five days a week minimum. The candidate participates in a 24/7 duty phone rotation.

  Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  Assists in the managing, dispatching and follow up of service requests and preventive maintenance work under the Base Operations and Support contract.

  Receives, processes, schedules and monitors work orders.

  Assists with follow ups to the customer, follow ups with the vendor and record keeping of all communication.

  Assists with scheduling work to be performed in residential units.

  Create and close all work orders in Amentum’s internal Maximo system as well as USMCmax.

  Track work orders for timely completion.

  Holds duty phone for emergency calls on a rotating basis.

  Perform general office administrative duties such as preparing reports, tables, summaries and other documents using standard office software.

  Perform other duties as assigned.

  Minimum Acceptable Experience and Qualification Levels:

  Prior experience in an operations and maintenance or construction environment is preferred but not required.

  Previous experience with a work order management system such as a Maximo or SAP based CMMS is preferred.

  Must be an experienced user of Microsoft office suite.

  Expected Skills and Competencies:

  Possesses and demonstrates a positive focus on achieving outstanding customer satisfaction

  Constantly seeks ways to improve and promote quality of work product

  Able to multi-task and not lose focus on work order being recorded while answering a customer query of another work order status

  Education:

  High school diploma or GED required.Language Requirements:

  Must be bilingual in speaking English and Japanese

  Reading and writing Japanese preferred

  Must have excellent oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and the client.

  Licenses & Certifications:

  Candidate must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 12 months remaining to expiration date. If not currently a resident of Japan

  Will be expected to obtain a company-sponsored Japanese Work Visa if not currently a resident of Japan

  Position does not typically require the applicant to drive in the performance of work duties. If applicant is eligible to operate a Company provided vehicle the applicant must be legally authorized to operate a vehicle safely in the Country of Japan as well as aboard the installation. Vehicle operators will be subject to US Military traffic citation point system.

  Transportation is not provided to locally hired personnel for the purpose of commute to and from the workplace. Non-locally hired are expected to obtain and maintain the legal ability to operate a Company provided vehicle both on and off the installation for the purpose of commute and/or on-site transportation. Those unable to obtain and maintain the legal means to operate a motor vehicle in Japan or aboard the installation will be responsible for their own transportation for all purposes.
