The Work Control Specialist is part of the Energy & Environment Science & Technology (EES&T) directorate and the Research Management team. The team enables research through the safe conduct of research by managing research work control.
With minimal oversight, perform as a Work Control Specialist to coordinate EES&T research work control review system and populate database information.
Responsibilities
Prepare files for document management, maintain a database of EES&T research work control documents, and perform data tracking and analyses on review metrics.
Facilitate focused review meetings and laboratory activity walk downs.
Show Principal Researchers, Subject Matter Experts, ES&H personnel, and technical peer reviewers the research work control process.
Interact with Laboratory Managers to coordinate efficient reviews, serve as document control point-of-contact for Research Operations.
Manage work control center, identify, propose, and implement work control process improvements.
Compile data, analyze, prepare periodic reports, and oversee workspaces/dashboards for Research Operations.
Participate in research work control inspections and surveillances. Independently design, develop, document, and update databases in support of Research Operations. Anticipate and identify risks to successful execution of work and notify management of any potential issues that could impact performance.
Serve as the system administrator and liaison for the Research Operations business applications.
Implement and develop new applications, tools, and processes. Lead ongoing maintenance and upgrades to Research Operations software applications.
Coordinate EES&T laboratory equipment/material disposition efforts. Provide other assistance as requested by the Research Operations Manager.

PR0200: BS and 2 years of experience or high school diploma and 10 years of experience with data preparation and entry, document management, development of business applications.
PR0300: BS and 5 years of experience or high school diploma and 13 years of experience with data preparation and entry, document management, development of business applications.
