Working/Functional TitleWharton Center Executive Assistant
Position SummaryThe Executive Assistant provides high-level project management, and administrative support to the Executive Director (MSU Executive Management) and senior management within Wharton Center. This role requires a combination of organizational skills, discretion, and effective communication to ensure the smooth functioning of the executive's office. The Executive Staff Assistant plays a crucial role in managing day-to-day tasks/projects, coordinating schedules, and facilitating communication between the executive and internal/external stakeholders.
Work location: position is in East Lansing with an office location at the Wharton Center. Position will be welcome to a 20% remote on a weekly average based on event schedule.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge normally acquired through a high school education with course work in word processing, typing, shorthand, and grammar; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive University work experience in maintaining account ledgers, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; editing, composing correspondence, taking dictation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired QualificationsA bachelor's degree or equivalent. Five years of experience in office or department administration. Office management experience. Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
