  General Statement

  Gallatin College seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and/or related functions.

  Duties and Responsibilities

  Mitigate the interaction of high school and college students in a blended facility setting and maintain an emotionally safe environment for both.

  Recognize safety hazards and unsafe operation of equipment and be able to instruct students in proper use.

  Understand both High school and college rules and regulations.

  Identify improper technique and machine use and correct it.

  Communicate well with all types of learners at different levels of expertise.

  Maintain equipment found in fabrication shop.

  Maintain an organized and clean learning environment.

  Follow protocol to safely open facility and close facility at end of section.

  Inventory tools and equipment.

  Inventory consumables and prepare reorder lists for restocking.

  Provide emergency medical assistance when needed.

  Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  CAS in welding technology with a cumulative program GPA of 3.00 or better

  Employed in the welding manufacturing or fabrication industry or any sector of applied welding found in the western half of the United States

  Posses industry credentials i.e. NCCER , SENSE , AWS , API and ASME

  Have the ability to demonstrate welding technique(s) to students whom may possess a variety of skill and talent

  Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department

  Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  Four-year degree in appropriate field

  Prior teaching experience

  Understanding of the two-year college mission

  Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity

  The Program

  Students in the Welding Technology Certificate Program will gain the knowledge and the skills to make satisfactory welds in all positions using the following techniques: shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and flux cored arc welding. Students will also learn how to maintain tools and equipment and they will learn how to read and interpret blueprints. Upon completion of this program, students are eligible to apply to be listed in the AWS National Registry of Welders.
