Zantech is looking for a talented Content Administrator to support our Army client. This person will support www.Army.mil (http://www.army.mil/), the official public website of the United States Army, and several related online social media and strategic communication products. The Content Admin will be a part of a small team of content specialists; editors, videographers, community managers and social media managers. The full-time position is based in Arlington, Virginia, and the current hours of duty are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.
This person will create messaging, marketing materials, and various forms of digital online copy.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proofread and edit articles and content posted to www.Army.mil (http://www.army.mil/), and occasionally several of the U.S. Army's official social media properties (Facebook, Twitter) to ensure it is grammatically correct, adheres to Army/AP Style, meets the strategic communication goals of the U.S. Army and does not violate U.S. Army Operational Security (OPSEC) policies or regulations;
Review and edit content to ensure it is understandable by both military and civilian audiences;
Create and update YouTube playlists as well as schedule video releases in Sprinklr;
Curate video content focused on the current priorities and goals;
Search various military and government news websites, select content that supports the U.S. Army's communication goals, and import said content into the content management system used to power www.Army.mil (http://www.army.mil/); see them through the editing and approval process for publishing;
Perform regular reviews of the website and social media properties to ensure content accuracy, timeliness and relevance;
Coordinate with the other www.Army.mil (http://www.army.mil/) teams to ensure content on various feature microsites is updated in time for planned commemorations;
Coordinate with the U.S. Army's Social Media team to synchronize website effort with social media effort to maximize the impact of the strategic communication goals for various information campaigns;
Coordinate with editors and public affairs officers from commands across the Army to help publicize their organizations' campaigns, and to ensure their print and video content supports the communication goals of Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA);
Use data from Web metrics tools to evaluate the effectiveness/appeal of specific news stories and microsites, and provide recommendations to the OCPA to improve the appeal of future content on microsites, the home page, and social media properties.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
4+ years of experience
A bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or Marketing, or a related area of study, OR 4 or more years of relevant professional experience in print or broadcast journalism, or military public affairs
Experience with Associated Press writing style guidelines and applications
Very strong verbal and writing skills, particularly in the area of journalism and/or military or government public affairs
Strong collaborative skills, leadership skills, and content vision
Prior engagement experience in online social media environments such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, LinkedIn and YouTube
Strong overall computer use skills on systems utilizing the Windows operating system
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
US Citizenship.
The following are not required but are desired:
Experience with Sprinklr for social media management
DoD OPSEC Level II Certification or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of start date
Experience providing public affairs services in Department of Defense and/or Federal government environments, especially the U.S. Army
Time on staff of a website or print publication focused on the distribution of journalism and/or public outreach multimedia products
Prior photography, design, or writing experience
Prior experience using Web metrics analysis software to measure audience interaction on websites and/or social media environments
Prior experience using Web Content Management Systems to package and publish multimedia content to websites and/or blogs
Prior experience with design and/or development of websites
Active DoD Security Clearance, but not required
