This position rotates over two shifts (day and night) and some weekend work and overtime will be required.
THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT TECHNICIAN WILL . . .Operate and maintain Carpenter's central wastewater treatment plant, sludge drying and various pre-treatment facilities used to treat process wastewater and waste by-products from major departments to meet or exceed all federal and state environmental regulations and permit requirements.Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed.Collects water samples for chemical analysisPerforms all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT TECHNICIANHigh school diploma or GED required. 3+ years of wastewater treatment experience required.Working knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word and Excel.Ability to work with minimal supervision in a production-oriented environment.Ideal candidate will manage own time to meet objectives and proactively offer help to others as well as promote teamwork through understanding of broader team goals.Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills and mechanical skills.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Ability to work in a fast-paced and every changing work environment.
