Primary Function Plans,organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of allitems received from suppliers ensuring a smooth and consistent operationso that supplies and equipment are delivered to the proper departmentsin an effective and efficient manner according to departmentalprocedures. The supervisor will also oversee the movement of inventoryand address any freight issues and assist with returns. ResponsibilitiesPlans and coordinates work assignments for the Shipping department.Trains, motivates and monitors the performance of Receiving/Shippingpersonnel. Responsible for inventory management, cycle counts, and spotchecks. Handle freight issues (lost freight, refused freight, etc)Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures forreceiving, handling, storage, shipping and salvaging of equipment andsupplies. Provide and necessary training to staff on shippingprocedures, use of FedEx shipping systems and international shippingregulations. Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.Qualifications Associate Degree 3+ years of related experience ortraining, preferably in inventory or shipping and receiving 2+ years ofsupervisory/leadership experience. Additional Qualifications: Automatedreceiving experience, SAPpreferred. B.S or B.A. degree preferred.Effective communications both written and verbal are required.
