  Description

  Job Title: Director of Finance

  Location: Lexington, KY (Fully On site)

  Summary:

  We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead the accounting department and be a key member of the leadership team. The successful candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across all departments.

  Essential Duties:

  Financial Department Oversight: Lead the operations of the company's finance department, encompassing the creation and review of policies, budgeting, recruitment, training, and regular assessments of financial procedures.

  Collaborative Goal Setting: Work closely with department leaders to communicate and assess financial goals, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.

  Comprehensive Accounting Management: Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), Inventory, and Revenue Recognition.

  Timely Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish monthly financial statements in a timely manner.

  Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, including tax filings, and research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.

  Quality Control: Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting, maintaining high standards of accuracy.

  Internal Controls Enhancement: Develop processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls, contributing to the overall integrity of financial operations.

  Additional Responsibilities: Undertake additional controller duties as necessary to support the financial well-being of the organization.

  Education and/or Experience:

  Proven Experience: Demonstrated working experience as a Financial Controller.

  Years of Experience: 5+ years of combined accounting and finance experience.

  Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA license is preferred.

  Knowledge Base: Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

  Financial Statement Expertise: Experience in creating financial statements.

  Technical Skills: Proficient in general ledger functions and experienced in the month-end/year-end close process.

  Software Proficiency: Excellent accounting software user and administration skills; familiarity with Sage 100 software is a plus.

  Requirements - Possess strong Microsoft Excel skills

  MBA or CPA is preferred

  Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

  Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  10+ years of finance and accounting experience

  Experience with multiple financial and accounting reporting systems

  Extremely detailed and analytical
