DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:Job Summary:The VP of Supply Chain and Operational Excellence will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for driving significant improvements in both our supply chain processes and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics manufacturing, a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, and a proven track record of implementing Lean or similar methodologies to enhance internal and supplier operations. This role involves international responsibilities, project management, and strategic decision-making to ensure the company's long-term success.
Key Responsibilities: * Evaluate and make strategic decisions regarding in-house manufacturing versus outsourcing * Analyze cost-effectiveness and quality considerations to optimize the make/buy strategy * Spearhead and manage projects aimed at relocating production facilities to enhance cost efficiency (e.g., expansion into Mexico) * Identify opportunities for supply chain improvement and cost reduction * Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency * Develop and communicate a comprehensive supply chain and operational improvement strategy aligned with the company's objectives * Set and manage budgets, establish and publish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress * Lead and mentor an international team of Strategic Buyers and Operational Excellence Personnel * Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment * Effectively manage the inventory component of working capital to optimize cash flow while ensuring product availability * Oversee the SIOP process to balance demand and supply, ensuring production efficiency and customer satisfaction * Drive change through active engagement with suppliers and manufacturing plants * Organize and host improvement events, such as Kaizen, to enhance operational processes * Proactively address supplier constraints and issues negotiating price and terms with key suppliers to ensure the best value for the organization
Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred) * 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain and operations, with a strong electronics manufacturing background * Proven track record of successfully implementing Lean or similar methodologies to drive operational improvements * Experience managing international teams and complex, cross-functional projects * Strong analytical and decision-making skills * Excellent communication and negotiation skills * Results-oriented with a focus on cost reduction and operational efficiency
