Steelcase is hiring a VP, Global Corporate Communications. Reporting to the Global VP, Communications, this is an influential senior level position that will be responsible for shaping the next chapter of Steelcase's corporate communications.
Working together with the VP, Brand Communications, the VP, Global Corporate Communications (VPGCC) is responsible for leading and implementing a cohesive and coordinated global communications strategy for all relevant (corporate) audiences.
The VPGCC will focus on strategic communications supporting global talent, executive, crisis, IR, community, government and media relations. The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading global corporate communications and working with executive leadership, and possess exceptional writing and public speaking skills.
What You Will Be Doing:* Lead the strategic vision of our corporate communications related to: Employee Communications, Crisis Management, Investor Relations & Shareholder Communications, Sr Executive Media Relations, and Community & Government Relations.* Design the communication strategy in partnership with cross-functional leaders, ensuring a standardized and cohesive approach with measured effectiveness of the communication plans executed across social media, company website, internal intranet and other forms of communication intended for internal and external audiences.* Formulate comprehensive communications plans that represent our purpose and vision, and supports execution of content strategies to drive stakeholder engagement, build public trust, positively shape the corporate reputation, boost employee morale, and impact positive business results.* Work closely with the broader global communications team to embrace and communicate brand purpose, messaging, direction.* Work closely with other departments and divisions to understand the audience mindset to create, improve, and maintain effective company-wide and targeted audience messages.* Attract, develop, and retain a motivated global communications team that consistently delivers outstanding performance with a commitment to quality and results.* In alignment with PR department, develop, train, and monitor executive company media spokespersons and their public messaging.* When required, represent the company to the media and with other audiences, internal and external.* Support significant employee wide communications, ensuring alignment of brand messaging across multiple employee communication messages and forums.* Lead editorial review and deliver expert advice of all strategic messaging and corporate material: internal, clients, partners, prospects, and external. Develop communications best practices to support internal teams with change management efforts and reinforcement of key messages.* Liaison with the executive team on special projects and initiatives that may impact Corporate Communications internally and externally.* Lead the reimagination of global employee communications to foster a deeply engaged workforce connected to the company's strategy and values.* Collaborate with the CEO and senior executive team to create and execute a comprehensive integrated communications strategy that resonates with the company's most important audiences.* Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and regional leads, define their communication requirements, and provide them with strategic advice and counsel.
