If you enjoy providing counseling and guidance while assisting individuals with disabilities to obtain employment and independence,this is the job for you!  The Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is seeking two (2) motivated and highly skilled Vocational *Rehabilitation Counselor II's *to join our Utah State Office of Rehabilitation (USOR) team in Ogden,UT.  This will allow you to practice the latest techniques in rehabilitation counseling while developing strong partnerships with other agencies and programs to help clients enter or reenter the labor market.

　　Principal Duties

　　The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor II performs the following tasks:

　　Provides counseling services to a combination of general caseload and transition youth,ages 14-24.Provides full performance level vocational counseling and guidance,training and selective job placement services to individuals with disabilities.Partners with the community and provides outreach to vendors to collaborate and coordinate agency activities and facilitate agency goals.Travels as needed to provide outreach to schools,parents,business partners,community partners and training meetings.Exercises a great deal of independent decision making.This position may be under filled as a Rehabilitation Counselor I or a Rehabilitation Trainee.

　　Rehabilitation Trainee - BS Degree - No work related experience - $20.42Rehabilitation Counselor I - BS Degree + 1 year work related experience - $22.45Rehabilitation Counselor II - Masters in VRC or related field + 1 year work related experience - $24.66*A *5% salary increase will be provided to individuals who are Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC). The Ideal ApplicantThe model applicant for this position is someone who:

　　Has a Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling or a related field of study. Related degrees are those accepted under category 3 as defined by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) website{target="_blank"}.Possesses the ability and willingness to be eligible to hold a state of Utah Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor license within 5 years. To obtain this license you must complete 4,000 hours of disability related work experience as well as sit for and obtain a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification (CRC).Has a 3.0 GPA or higher as an undergraduate in a related field of study (See Category 3 related degrees through the link above).Is capable of independent thinking,autonomy and managerial skills.Has the ability to establish and maintain community relationships.*Preference *Preference points may be given for the following:
