Job Description
Develop and execute novel in vitro assays to assess inhibition of virus growth by small molecules and/or biologics, including preparation and characterization of viral and cellular stocks, assay execution using automated liquid handlers and automated detection methods in 384-well formats, and the use of LIMS to manage samples and data.
Identify, validate and integrate new technologies or methodologies to address questions related to drug discovery programs and laboratory automation
Optimize efficiency and productivity through effective management of work flow and incorporation of automation
Properly document and report experimental findings, assay protocols, and instrument programming and comply with all laboratory safety requirements.
Qualifications
Experience in the design and execution of high capacity in vitro assays for antiviral drug discovery using a range of methods (cytopathology, reporter viruses, qPCR, and others)
Experience with automated liquid handlers (esp Bravo and BioMek)
Strong understanding of regulations regarding the use of pathogens (e.g. virus, bacteria, fungi), human cell and tissue use, laboratory safety, health physics and chemical hazards in research.
Strong collaborative skills and demonstrated experience with cross-functional teams
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience; MS 3+/PHD Preferred.
Additional Information
Position is full-time and permanent, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pmwith over time as needed.Candidatescurrently living in a commutable distance to West Point ,PAare encouraged to apply. On-site work is expected in order to be effective in this role.
