What’s the role?

　　As a member of the Editing team, you will play an essential role in generating

　　high-quality content for Sky News Live, Sky News Weather and Fox Sports News.

　　You will cut a wide range of content from short-form packages to documentaries

　　under strict deadlines.

　　Your responsibilities:

　　Use Quantel to edit content (e.g. news packages, sports highlight reels, LVOs, feature packages)

　　Work to strict deadlines and balance competing priorities

　　Use Adobe Photoshop to prepare photographs for use on-air

　　Liaise with other departments to ensure that content is assembled correctly and that graphics are fit for purpose

　　Communicate effectively with other editors to ensure all requests are completed in a timely manner without double-handling of content

　　Think on your feet to come up with creative solutions to problems that might arise

　　Who are you?

　　University or TAFE qualifications in media/broadcasting preferred

　　At least 2 years’ experience as a video editor

　　Ability to work quickly and accurately and prioritise different requests to reach changing deadlines

　　Have a good attention to detail

　　Ability to communicate calmly but effectively in a high-pressure environment

　　Interest in Australian news, politics and national affairs

　　Display a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard

　　Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop preferred

　　Knowledge of Quantel will be highly regarded but training will be provided

　　Good availability and willingness to do shift work
