(NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced Vehicle/Fleet Mechanic for its Puyallup, WA Facility.The Puyallup facility is located at the merchant facility/distribution facility produces liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. The facility supplies the merchant market within the Puyallup and Seattle WA region of the U.S. via our liquid and bulk gas fleet, which is currently team of 20 liquid and bulk gas drivers. The position works with the Puyallup Distribution Manager and is responsible for the maintenance of company owned tractors and tanker trailers.We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and well organized, self-starter with strong commitment to safety. The mechanic should be a strong teammate with ability to work well with fellow mechanics, drivers, and operations personnel.As a Vehicle/Fleet Mechanic, the primary responsibilities will be to:Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as necessary on over-the-road Class A, Class B tractors, and tanker trailersDocument/record repair work performed electronically on computer based vehicle maintenance systemPerform road repairs when necessaryDiagnose and repair vehicle electrical, ac, air brake components/systemsParticipation in company safety, training, environmental and improvement programsPerform electrical/electronic repairs on tractors and trailersGas and electrical welding experience preferredAdditional job responsibilities (with on-the-job training provided) will include:Perform cryogenic maintenance to include repair/replacing valves, pumps, etc.Calibrate pump discharge metersLoad trailersWash fleet equipmentHousekeepingHandle inventory for spare tires and fleet equipment partsManage fleet fuels and lubricants.Perform delivery operation environmental and safety tasksAssist plant operations maintenanceOpportunity to learn and maintain state of the art tractorQualifications:High School diploma/equivalent3-5 years strong vehicle maintenance and repair experience to over-the-road Class 8 and Class B tractors and trailersStrong mechanical background, with above average computer experience/skills.Ability to drive a Class A and Class B tractors (Preferred but not necessary.)Electrical troubleshooting skills on 12 volt DC circuitsDiesel engine troubleshooting and repair experience preferredWelding knowledge and experience a plus1 year Brake Certification1 year FMCSA DOT Annual Inspection Training Certificate a plusEnergetic, highly motivated and well organized, self-starter with strong commitment to safetyStrong team player with ability to work well with fellow mechanics/drivers/operations personnelSolid work historyValid Class A CDL preferred but not necessaryIn addition to our benefit plan we offer:Job position progressionCompany supplied tools and tool boxCompany supplied uniforms and safety equipmentOn-the Job Training for specialized cryogenic systemsWhen it comes to safety at Air Products ZERO IS ACHIEVABLE.
