Location: Wapato, Washington. Applicant \"MUST HAVE\" 12 months ofexperience.VAN DRIVER: Employee may drive 12 or 15 passenger vans orother company-owned vehicles over the road. Employee must possess avalid standard drivers license. Employee picks up workers from differenthousing sites/pick up points and takes them to an assigned work site andat the end of the workday takes them back to the housing site/pick uppoint. Employee will also work in the assigned crewat the assignedworksite. Employee will transport workers once a week to local grocerystores or businesses to run errands. Employee will obey all traffic lawsand comply with state and federal regulations. Employee will followprocedures and regulations to ensure passenger safety. Employee willperform regular maintenance inspections to ensure vehicle is workingproperly and report any issues promptly. Employee will keep the vehicleclean. In accordance with company policy, employee may be requested tosubmit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failureto comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediatetermination. CHERRY Harvest: The Worker will hand harvest cherries, thiscan be performed from a motorized platform and/or from the ground or aladder. The Worker will attach harness, bucket or bag and pick lowhanging fruit while standing or on a ladder. The
Worker will pick according to grade, color and size by grasping fruitwith the hands and removing from the tree in a motion so as not to harmadjacent buds on the tree branches. The Worker will carry harness,bucket or bag of up to 20 lbs. and will place fruit into plastic lugswhich hold approximately 30 pounds of fruit. Care must be exercised atall times to prevent bruising of fruit or breaking of branches. SomeWorkers may be required to examine harvested fruit in plastic/woodenbins and sort out any fruit not meeting the grade, color and sizespecifications. The worker must possess the ability to pick-up, handle a10 ft. or 12 ft. orchard ladder weighing up to 40 pounds. APPLE/PEARHarvest: The Worker will hand harvest apples/pears this can be performedfrom a motorized platform and/or from the ground or a ladder. The Workerwill attach harness, bucket or bag and picks low hanging fruit whilestanding on the ground and higher branches while standing on a ladder.The Worker will pick according to grade, color and size by graspingfruit with the hands and removing from the tree in a motion so as not toharm adjacent buds on the tree branches. The Worker will carry harness,bucket or bag of up to 60 lbs. and will place fruit into wooden bins,4x4x3 which hold approximately 25 bushels of fruit. Care must beexercised at all times to prevent bruising of fruit or breaking ofbranches. The Worker may be required to examine harvested fruit in binsand sort out any fruit not meeting the grade, color and sizespecifications.
