Splunk is here to build a safer and more resilient digital world. The world's leading enterprises use our unified security and observability platform to keep their digital systems secure and reliable. While customers love our technology, it's our people that make Splunk stand out as an amazing career destination and why we've won so many awards as a best place to work. If you become a Splunker, we want your whole, authentic self, what we call your "million data points". So bring your work experience, problem-solving skills and talent, of course, but also bring your joy, your passion and all the things that make you, you.

Role Summary

Splunk is seeking a UX Intern to join our Web Marketing team. A great candidate would be a student enrolled in an HCI, Psychology, UX or relevant major, who is passionate about the various aspects of User Experience or User Interface Design and relevant methodologies. You will have the outstanding opportunity of joining the UX team and working with senior level professionals to learn and collaborate on designing user experiences.

This position will report into the Sr Director, Head of Web Marketing.

At Splunk, you get your chance to put your ideas into action in a fast paced environment. Intern responsibilities will include the following (based on skills and interest):

Create wireframes for various page templates for the website

Support end user research including usability testing, competitive analysis, customer interviews, behavioral insights and metrics analysis to inform designs

Must-have Qualifications

Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field, and strong record of academic achievement.

At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship.

Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.

Must be proficient in Figma, or other wireframing tools.

Have some understanding of current web technologies HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript

Interested in the latest web technologies and user experience methodologies

Familiarity with analytic tools such as Google Analytics and Mouseflow

Background knowledge or curiosity about Usability Testing and User Centered Design

Examples of work via a portfolio is required (please send in PDF or URL)
