FTE: 0.001000 Shift: Shift 4 Job Summary: Participates with theinterdisciplinary care team in the delivery of the patient\'s plan ofcare. Provides hands on patient care and will assist the RN and otherteam members with treatments, procedures, and reporting pertinentinformation to the appropriate care team member. Performs specificservice and technical duties necessary to provide for the comfort, care,and safety of patients under the direction and supervision of theRegistered Nurse. Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment on thenursing unit. Does not function as a Patient Safety Attendant (sitter).Cannot float to CMH Mental Health Center. Reports to the NurseManager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on dutyon each assigned shift. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Enrolled in and activelypursuing a high school diploma program. Incumbents in the position priorto October 1, 2007, may substitute this educational requirement with thefollowing statement - Ability to read, write and communicate complicatedverbal and written communications at a level normally acquired throughcompletion of a high school education. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Goodinterpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively withpatients, visitors and hospital personnel. Sound communication andwriting skills. Math skills to perform simple arithmetic calculations.Observational and analytical skills to identify patient changes/problemsto prioritize and react appropriately. Familiarity with PCs and othercomputerized patient care tools or demonstrated ability to learn.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin Nursing AssistantCertification is required.
