GENERAL STATEMENT:

　　Under the direct supervision the Public Works Director and/or his designated representative, performs skilled or semiskilled maintenance activities and functions. Performs all general maintenance and construction duties as required for the general installation, maintenance and repair of the city's wastewater collection system, including wastewater mains, service lines, service connections, manholes, and lift stations.

　　ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Performs maintenance and repair work on a regularly scheduled basis without direct supervision.

　　Assists other Public Works staff and departments in the planning and execution of their assignments, providing labor and/or technical assistance as required.

　　Completes routine wastewater collection system maintenance assignments and activities, without direct supervision, including, but not limited to, minor wastewater line repairs, lift station/pump maintenance and repairs, service line installation/repairs, and general maintenance of wastewater collection systems.

　　Maintains all equipment utilized in maintenance activities, including changing oil and other routine maintenance of appropriate equipment.

　　Assists and supports other city departments as to general maintenance projects, needs, and activities.

　　Routinely operates heavy equipment (Ex. Backhoe, Front End Loader, Excavator, etc.) associated with the Wastewater Department as needed.

　　The above equipment list does not exclude the operation of other necessary equipment that may be needed in order to complete a required task.

　　Community Relations:

　　Maintains desired working relationship with Public Works Director and City Manager; Works cooperatively with community groups; Provides support to all city department programs and/or activities as needed; Actively participates in creating and providing desired service levels to the citizens of Kyle and non-citizens within the City of Kyle; performs other duties as assigned.
