Here, you will make an impact by:Providing subject matter expertise on U.S. tax law relating to international activities and operations throughout the tax life cycle (planning, reporting, compliance, and defense).Engaging in strategic tax planning, partnering with the 3M Tax Planning Team to advise on U.S. tax consequences of M&A and planning opportunities.Model and maintain tax attributes and projection optimization strategies (e.g., FDII, GILTI, US Foreign Tax credit, E&P, etc.).Preparation and/or review of complex U.S. international calculations including components of FTC, GILTI, FDII, and BEAT for quarterly tax provisions and communicating with internal stakeholders and external auditors.Reviewing drafted responses to inquiries, data requests, audits, and proposed adjustments received from the U.S. tax authorities to ensure timely and accurate responses while proactively identifying issues.Monitoring and evaluating U.S. legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicating to senior tax leadership.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)Five (5) years of experience in U.S. international tax in a public accounting firm and/or corporate environment in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Solid knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax mattersDeep technical knowledge of Internal Revenue Code international provisions (FTC, FDII, GILTI, BEAT, 163(j), etc.) as well as OECD issued Pillar 2 guidanceGeneral understanding of ASC 740 Accounting and Reporting of Income TaxesU.S. International income tax compliance and provision experienceMaster's degree in Taxation from an accredited institutionCPA CertificationExcellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts to stakeholdersProficient in use of Corptax softwareWork location:Remote with the possibility of Work Your Way (Employee can choose to work remote, on site, or hybrid)Travel: May include up to 5% domesticRelocation Assistance: Not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
