The purpose of this role is to assist GRMS in their role as co-ordinators and facilitators of insurance and reinsurance placement on behalf of the Members of the Mutual Risk Group mainly focusing on Underwriting and related matters.
The Role
Manage renewal submission deadline and review information submitted
Will need to build and retain relationships with different stakeholders such as: Underwriting, support staff and claims, Servicing Brokers, Insurance and Reinsurance Placing Brokers and Local & overseas insurers and reinsurers.
Attend to renewal queries as necessary.
Prepare the necessary reports for renewal submission.
Arranging placing brokers’ access to renewal information on Riskonnect
Liaise with placing brokers for any queries on submitted renewal information
Responsible for the overall administration of renewal information collection system
Provide updated Budget and Final Premium Allocation Underwriting Input Parameters.
Manage Underwriting Administration: attend to adhoc underwriting queries, updating of Insurance Structure for Claims, liaising with servicing brokers and placing brokers in respect of endorsements and any other related queries.
Liaise with both Servicing Brokers and Placing Brokers for Payments and confirmation of payment.
Ensure that the necessary arrangements and appointments have been made of the Broker Liaison Meetings
Act as a Fire Marshall for the company.
The Requirements
A minimum of 5 years experience across several classes of insurance in either one or more of these disciplines – Underwriting, servicing brokers or placement role
Insurance related qualification with experience in the local and/or international insurance industry.
Experience working with IT Literate - knowledge of Microsoft packages and other insurance systems or software that may be used within the MRG arrangement.
Technical insurance knowledge
Ability to work under pressure, accountability and fast learner
Competences such as: Presentation Skills, Time Management, People management, Action Oriented, Conflict Management, Customer Focus
