Underwriter, International A&H & Travel - 352808
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:JOB DESCRIPTIONAs a member of the Chubb Overseas General Accident & Health (COG) underwriting team, this role is responsible for supporting Underwriting Data Analytics for International Accident & Health lines of business, including Leisure Travel, Direct Marketing, Corporate, Affinity and Credit. The key objective is to support data analysis, global data strategies, and, in collaboration with Actuarial, Underwriting and BI teams, enhance data analytic capabilities for support Local, Regional and Home Office Underwriting teams to effectively manage their portfolios and pricing. This role also provides underwriting support to the International A&H Underwriting for underwriting referrals, products and global underwriting projects
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:* Support our predictive analytics, actuarial and data teams to data analysis and visualization to improve pricing sophistication, data management, data analytics, rate optimization and management reporting* Support global and regional pricing strategies to increase granularity of rate segmentation* Participate in underwriting referrals to home office from all international A&H countries, including Leisure Travel, Direct Marketing, Corporate, Affinity and Credit.* Ensure that underwriting referrals are compliant with Underwriting Guidelines, Policies and Procedures, Underwriting Authority, Risk Appetite and the company's overall strategy and goals* Encourage underwriting thought process in referrals made by local and regional underwriters.* Assist in new product development and implementation.* Support regional underwriting and analytic teams to accelerate and optimize digital distribution* Conduct and participate in underwriting audits internationally.* Support underwriting and reinsurance placements for key global partners.* Support proactive portfolio and account management with the use of data and analytics* Support the development and implementation of global best practices pertaining to data analytics, rating models and rate optimization.
QUALIFICATIONSFour-year college degree3+ years of relevant underwriting, actuarial or insurance analyst experience.Strong analytical skills, data management and database knowledgeProficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications.Working experience with data analysis program languages such as R or Python and visualization tools such as Power BI or Qliksense. RADAR is a plus.Able to work independently as well as in a global team environmentAbility to plan and schedule work to hit tight deadlines. Entrepreneurial spirit and initiative.Desire to work in a global insurance environment
