About UConn SHaW RN Coordinator - Regional Campuses

  JOB SUMMARY

  UConn Student Health and Wellness is searching for a dynamic Nurse Leader to oversee nursing services at the Regional Campuses (Avery Point, Waterbury, Hartford, Stamford). This Clinical Nurse Coordinator will be responsible for supervising a team that will deliver patient focused advice and education, support the maintenance and improvement of the health of students, identify, and assist in removing or modifying health-related barriers, and support early detection and early intervention strategies. They will manage the day-to-day nursing operations that support the mission of Student Health and Wellness, in promoting health and wellness to the Universitys student community. Collaboration with other University stakeholders, as well as community providers, will be an essential component of the role to enable the student to attain and maintain health. They will evaluate services and recommend policy or procedural changes. Responsibilities may include the provision of direct patient care. This will be a Storrs-based position, with a required physical presence on all UConn campuses, on a rotational basis.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  Active and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the State of CT.Bachelors degree in nursing or another health-related field.Four years of nursing experience working directly with adolescents/young adults in community health, ambulatory care, or school-based nursing environments.Demonstrable physical assessment nursing skills.CPR certification.Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to build relationships with people having a wide variety of backgrounds.Demonstrated commitment to a culture of diversity, respect, and inclusion.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  Five years of nursing experience.Experience with direct supervision.Experience leading a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.Experience working in a college health setting.Experience in case management.Experience providing telephone advice.APPOINTMENT TERMS

  This is a permanent 12-month positionbased in Storrs, with regular expected travel to all regional campuses. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
