Program Summary
KBR will help sustain the well-being of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain, as well as Incirlik Air Base, Izmir Air Station, Office of Defense Cooperation –Turkey and the Ankara Support Facility also in Turkey. The company will keep these bases and facilities operating smoothly so deployed Air Force and government personnel can execute their missions without distraction.
KBR’s work will include program management; civil engineering; morale, welfare and recreation support; postal operations; and safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene and ambulance services. It will also provide logistics support, such as vehicle management, fuel operations and air terminal services. KBR received this contract – which has a five-year base period and three one-year options—from the Air Force Installation Contracting Center.
Roles and Responsibilities
Determine the serviceability of vehicle systems, assemblies or subassemblies, and the need for repair.
Analyze malfunctions by visual and auditory examination or through the use of test equipment. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
Repair, adjust, overhaul, or replace major assemblies or subassemblies such as engine; mechanical, electrical, air-conditioning, fuel, emission, power train, brake, steering and suspension systems. Repair and diagnosis of - with some assistance: engines (gas and diesel), power trains to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO's and wheel ends, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, electronics to include ECM's, ECU's, sensors etc., engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc., brake systems including ABS, suspension systems (spring and air).
Remove and disassemble gasoline or diesel engines and components. Repair components by replacing worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned parts. Reassemble, adjusts and test repaired units for proper operation.
Test, recondition and replace faulty alternators, generators, starter motors and related items such as voltage regulators and batteries. Repair or replace faulty ignition, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, and switches.
Service, identify and repair faults on electronically controlled vehicle systems such as electronic fuel injection, electronic ignition, anti-lock braking, cruise control, automatic transmission, air bags and air conditioning.
Perform preventive and special maintenance. Use technical publications to maintain vehicles to prescribed manufactures' maintenance schedules. Perform special inspections and maintenance on vehicles requiring corrosion control, storage, shipment, and winterization. Properly annotates all maintenance performed on prescribed forms for data collection purposes.
Adhere to all established safety policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units, warrantable repairs, and document on repair work order.
Install, maintain, identify faults, and repair electrical wiring and computer-based equipment in motor vehicles and other equipment.
Responsible for custodial work, including cleaning and maintaining the shop restroom and common areas.
Responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of the shop facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and organizing tools and parts.
Take initiative in maintaining good housekeeping practices, promoting a safe and organized working environment.
Perform work with computer-controlled engine management and other systems.
Use meters, test instruments and circuit diagrams to find electrical faults.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations to create a secure working environment.
Participate in safety training programs and consistently apply acquired knowledge in day-to-day operations.
Proactively identify potential safety hazards and take corrective measures to mitigate risks.
Collaborate with the QC team to address any identified issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
Maintain accurate documentation to meet the required standards and ensure compliance with relevant certifications.
Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
Must be a Turkish citizen.
Must have a valid Turkish professional driver’s license (Minimum “B” Class) and skill to operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
Current and favorable Turkish security background check.
Technical/High School graduate/two-year University Graduate (must possess diploma)
For Male Candidates, Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation is required.
Obtaining and passing a medical physical and certified by doctor is required.
Capable of performing lifting and similar physical tasks required for lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading up to 25kg/55 lbs. (make sure the hospital report includes orthopedical confirmation)
Must have proven experience working as a vehicle mechanic (provide a work certificate)
Must have minimum 3 years’ experience in electric work (provide a work certificate)
Skilled in working set schedules, hours, and under various weather constraints.
Skilled in being familiar with the English terminology used for parts, tools, and equipment.
Skilled in the ability to adapt to changing weather conditions and work schedules.
Capability to work well in a team and independently when required.
