JOB REQUIREMENTS: Company Generac Power Systems Name Staff MechanicalEngineer - Engine Development Req # 63941 Employment Type Full TimeShift 1st The Engineer IV - Staff Engineer is responsible for providingengineering input to the product development projects assigned tohim/her including interfacing with the cross functional team consistingof engineering, operations (industrial engineering, production, andmaterial procurement), sourcing, quality, service, and marketing.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Designs, validates, and brings newproducts to market. Specifies precise new product functionalrequirements; designs, tests and integrates a variety of increasinglycomplex components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design\'soverall effectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis),reliability (risk analysis), and safety. Designs, develops, executes andevaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and processvalidation plans for a variety of increasingly complex products and/orcomponents; creates and reviews material part specifications and billsof materials. Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners,contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimizeincreasingly complex designs for manufacturability. Utilizes CAD(Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems tomodel new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings. Supportingproduct development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting designinputs). Acts as a resource to mentor and teach less experiencedengineers. Other duties as assigned. Minimal Qualifications: Bachelor ofScience Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or relateddiscipline. 7+ years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications:Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracyon multiple projects of increasing complexity. Design experience with avariety of materials (ie plastics, aluminum castings, sheet metal) andbasic knowledge of material specs and use. Experience in new productdesign and development. Ability to conduct analysis using FEA, CFD, etc.Active participant in technical communities tied to industry standardsor regulations. Strong written communication and presentation skills.Ability to translate technical information to all audiences. Appliesengineering knowledge and experience to improve products, services andprocesses. Able to solve complex engineering problems. Strong technicalskills to include 3D modeling (ProE or SolidWorks). MS Excel, MS Word.Experience with machine design. Previous experience with SAP orequivalent ERP.
