Job Description:
This growing and highly successful company located in Georgetown, TX is looking for a Truck Prep Technician/Heavy Mechanical Assembler. This position will involve assembly of components of crane systems and attaching them onto the backs of semitrucks. They have a couple different models that they manufacturing. This person will join one of the teams. This person will work mostly with hand tools, power tools, and will work off blueprints. Each person will have his/her own work station/area. This position will require reading of blueprints and diagrams and following instructions to assemble components correctly. This person will also be apart of the final inspection and installation team to prep the trucks for shipping out. The person will be required to inspect, do assembly, and weld parts into place on the trucks. Shift:
1st shift opportunity Monday-Friday 6am-4:30pm.
Will be some work on weekends occasionally, especially towards the end of the month when they are nearing the end of their production life cycle and have goals to hit.
PAY:
$21 - $23/hr, with plenty of OT
Responsibilities:
Plan work flow and lay out jobs.
Inspect parts for adherence to specifications; grind or torch as needed.
Fill counter weights, cut and stamp gaskets.
Assemble hydraulics and air lines.
Locate parts needed for the assembly process. Lubricate and grease parts.
Assemble cranes and crane sub-assemblies for standard products, first-run or pilot products in support of and meeting production schedules.
Ensure bearings, seals and hydraulics fit and operate according to instructions.
Assist in maintaining the flow of work through the department.
Ensure production specifications and quality standards are met.
Operate and perform final check of finished products.
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Follow and comply with all safety regulations and practices.
Complete all required paperwork.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Two years in heavy assembly/mechanical work, tool use.
Previous MIG Welding experience.
Automotive mechanics, hydraulic mechanics, military mechanics all work well.
Lifts to 50 lbs.
Must have to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
Mechanical troubleshooting knowledge is all highly desirable.
People need to know how mechanic parts fit/work together.
Requires education generally equivalent to the ability to read and write and add and subtract whole numbers, and up to three months experience in assembling.
Ability to use small hand and power tools and measuring tools to assemble parts.
Requires the ability to operate hoists and the ability to frequently lift and carry tools and parts. (See Physical Activities).
Work Environment:
Moderate to loud noise levels from power tools and welding equipment.
Two-thirds or more of the workday is spent working near mechanical moving parts and one-third in outdoor weather including wet or humid conditions.

This is a permanent, contract to hire position meaning it is a permanent position with weekly pay coming from a third party for the first 6 months
