SummaryThis position is responsible for securely transporting detainees betweendestinations and ensuring that the vehicles used for transportation activitiesare safe and properly maintained.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesConducts pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip inspections of all vehiclesoperated. Provides written Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) at theend of each trip or shift and ensures that all potential safety defects arereported to the Transportation Supervisor.Ensures that all permits and licenses are in order before beginning a trip.Notifies the Transportation Manager if there are problems before initiating atrip.Ensures that vehicles have the necessary safety equipment before initiating atrip. Notifies the Transportation Manager if there are problems beforeinitiating a trip.Completes all necessary paperwork and reports in an accurate and thoroughmanner. Ensures that all reports are turned into the facility according todescribed policies and procedures.Ensures that detainees are properly secured prior to leaving a facility andwhile in a vehicle. Ensures that all paperwork is obtained and completelyaccurately and thoroughly when obtaining detainees at a facility anddelivering them to their appropriate destinations.Ensures that all safety measures are followed at all time while transportingdetainees, including but not limited, to all application federal,state, municipal and organizational laws, regulations, policies, andproceduresImmediately contacts safety authorizations and facility management in theevent of an accident. Provides detailed information, both verbally andwritten, to requesting authorities.Delivers vehicles for servicing and picks them up when ready.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent certification required. Possession ofapplicable state requisites for employment.Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age or older.Obtain a full Class B license or Class C Chauffeurs Drivers License (CDL)with a Passenger (P) endorsement within 180 days of hire.Range qualify with a 9mm weapon within 90 days and annually thereafter.Eighty (80) hours of verified and certified driver's training from anapproved company trainer and as defined by the U.S. Department ofTransportatioMust have completed an approved training program resulting in a certificationof satisfactory completion in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.A current driver's license with no preventable accidents, suspensions fordriving convictions, Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Underthe Influence (DUI) or more than two (2) moving violations on any typeof vehicle for the past three (3)...
