　　DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe primary responsibility of a county permit inspector is to oversee the implementation of the district highway occupancy program in the designated county or counties. This position involves conducting technical inspections of permit projects, which can include tasks such as ensuring construction project safety, assessing embankment compaction, overseeing major highway occupancy construction, and conducting construction inspections. The role requires a thorough understanding of contract requirements as well as the ability to analyze specifications and drawings. Additionally, you must possess a range of inspection techniques to effectively carry out their duties. You may also be involved in resolving any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process. While you receive general instructions from a technical supervisor, you are expected to exercise independent judgment when making technical decisions related to their assigned work. 　　One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); orTwo years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); orThree years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; orThree years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; orOne year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Necessary Special Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.Other Requirements:
