  Job Description

  AECOM Panama is seeking a Transportation Business Development Lead for employment in the Republic of Panama.

  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  Plans, organizes and implements business development activities for an assigned market, geographic territory or region.

  Manages and oversees business development staff.

  Participates in decision-making.

  Works independently to pursue development of new business prospects.

  Assists in the development of proposals and gives presentations to potential clients.

  Generally has business development and/or technical experience, may require hands-on cost proposal development.

  Other responsibilities:

  Responsible for leading transportation design teams and proven capacity to encounter creative technical solutions to problems that require optimization in designs.

  Reviews project drawings and other design products to ensure optimal quality and timely delivery.

  Plans complex transportation projects, develop programs, establish and manage procurement plans, working capital and financial performance.

  Ensures that projects are executed according to plan.

  Becomes familiar with the operation of the business and with the economic commercial environment.

  Informs of any issues facing the business while anticipating and preventing unexpected situations.

  Operates as leader while also getting involved in the details of the work.

  Takes a proactive approach in helping the business to solve problems.

  Responsible for driving accounting interface to ensure timely and accurate preparation and upload of estimates at completion (EAC).

  Validates the accuracy of revenue recognition at month end.

  Co-ordinates responses to client audit requests.

  Reviews significant project results and variances with the Project Accounting Team.

  Responsible for driving working capital management and reporting, through the achievement of cash flow objectives, engage in capital expenditures and seek to find cost effective solutions, to ultimately instill a culture of cash.

  Qualifications

  Minimum Requirements:

  BA/BS + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical, structures or highways and port with MSc. in civil engineering, geotechnical, structures or highways and ports.

  10+ years of experience, including at least 5 in a senior position involving team management, project management, and business development.

  Experience in rail, ports, airports, and other transportation sectors is a plus.

  Experience in highways, bridges, and other similar infrastructures is essential.

  Expertise in project management, client and customer management.
