Our Head Start program is looking for an energetic individual who's primary responsibility will be to train staff who are required to obtain their CDL (Class C license). Duties include:

　　Ensure safety in facilities and transportation operations in adherence with applicable rules, regulations and laws.As an On-Bus-Instructor (O.B.I.) be seen as a role model to other employees.Train staff who are required to obtain a CDL in NOCAC's vehicle policies and in other requirements for obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).Ensure NOCAC buses and vehicles are maintained in proper operating condition.Inspect the operating condition of vehicles on a continual basis, and solicit and receive repair and maintenance estimates.Maintain mileage logs and log all service records.Present workshops at parent meetings. Conduct training sessions to certify staff members in First Aid/CPR.Ensure CDL recertification is completed with drivers by their expiration date. Maintain all driver records in the State system.Assist staff in the development of bus routes.Substitute for absent drivers.Present the bus and pedestrian safety curriculum to children. Teach children and parents how to cross the street in front of the bus.Assist managers in ensuring safety of sitesOversee completion of bus inspections, summer and fall.Job Type: Full-time
