Position Summary and EssentialFunctions The Bus Operator\'s primary responsibilities are to safelyand efficiently operate their assigned vehicle on a specified route inaccordance with the time schedule allotted for that route. PublicTransit Bus Operators transport passengers over specified routes tolocal or distant points according to time schedules. This position issubject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing, underFederal Transportation Administration (FTA) drug and alcoholregulations. Bus Operators act as a \"front-line\" customer servicerepresentative of the Company. Bus Operators use good judgment,interpersonal communication skills, and workplace knowledge to assistcustomers with information, assure passenger safety, and to resolveproblems and conflicts wherever possible. Position Requirements -Have reliable transportation both to and from work. - Have knowledge of,and adhere to, all traffic rules and regulations. - Possess the physicalskills applicable to the safe and efficient operation of apassenger-carrying public transit bus of varying sizes. - Be able tomeet the minimum Federal Motor Carrier Regulations for age and physicalcondition. - Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. - Possess andmaintain a valid CDL license with the required endorsements. - Haveworking knowledge of basic arithmetic, map reading and time telling. -Be able to communicate verbally to the extent of interacting withpassengers. - Be able to complete accurate, legible written reports inEnglish. - Any combination of education and experience equivalent tograduation from High School. - Possess a Valid CDL, with a PassengerEndorsement, and without an Air Brakes Restriction. - Be able to obtaina valid Bus Operators License issued by the Massachusetts Department ofPublic Utilities (DPU), this will be sponsored by the Company if anoffer is extended. - Be able to pass USDOT MedicalExamination/Physical. - Be able to lift up to 30 pounds. - Reliably andconsistently report to work on time, regularly, and be ready to fulfillall job requirements Pay: From \$21.32 per hour Benefits: -401(k) - Dental insurance - Health insurance - Paid time off - Paidtraining - Vision insurance Schedule: Monday to Friday Weekendavailability Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)License/Certification: CDL B (Preferred)
