Responsibilities This position serves as Instructor/Course Manager at the Leadership Academy, Defense Contract Audit Institute (DCAI), Sandy Springs, Ga. Designs and delivers effective class instruction through the development of technically correct course curriculums that satisfy and include measurable learning objectives for each course taught. Researches, develops, and designs training materials for all courses to include technology-based, self-paced distance learning modules. Prepares instructional materials (course outlines, lesson plans, course learning objectives, exams, visual aids, case studies, and exercises) as necessary. Coordinates use of guest instructors and/or subject matter experts and ensures that they provide effective training through meaningful delivery of their course sections. Responsible for partnering with key stakeholders throughout the Agency to collaborate an approach that supports the "One Agency, One Team, One Direction" concept. Instructs, manages, and supervises individuals and groups in classrooms using appropriate adult learning theory and training methods. Designs and teaches leadership and/or human performance courses within the Leadership Academy's curriculum. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized Experience: you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience includes experience working as a second line supervisor or executive leader/manager; Experience in the management and/or design and delivery of leader development programs/curriculum using adult learning theory; Leadership/management experience as an instructor and/or experience in the design and implementation of effective adult learning strategies; Experience in leadership development methodologies which include education theory and practice, distance learning, web-based instructional techniques and delivery methods that include action learning, simulations, facilitation, conducting learning assessments, and receiving feedback. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
