About Traffic Engineer II

  What We're Looking For

  The ideal candidate is excited and engaged in transportation engineering. Experience in New England and traffic engineering is preferred but not required.

  In this job you'll be responsible for working with large amounts of data, traffic modeling programs (such as Synchro/Vissim/Freeval and more), developing reports and memorandums, plan, spec and estimate development, and so much more. Our group performs both typical traffic engineering work - signal design and planning studies and evaluations as well as atypical work like toll revenue and system design and Intelligent Transportation Systems design and integration.

  What You'll Do:

  Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.

  Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.

  Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.

  Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.

  Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.

  Performs other duties as assigned.

  What You'll Need:

  Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or

  Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience

  What You'll Bring:

  Preparation of technical reports and graphics

  Data collection and field observations

  Traffic analysis and simulation of traffic operations

  Traffic safety analysis and road safety audits

  Traffic signal and pavement marking & signage design

  ITS and toll system design

  Design of temporary traffic control plans

  Preparation of plans and cost estimates

  What We Prefer:

  EIT

  Experience in HCS and Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM experience is a plus

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  Experience in MicroStation V8i is a plus

  Experience in GIS is a plus
