A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRAFFICCONTROL TECHNICIAN In this position, each day will be different. Youwill operate company vehicles to deliver equipment to job sites. Youwill install portable changeable message signs (PCMS) and arrow boards.You will set up and remove lane closures, ramp closures, road closures,etc. Most importantly, you ensure the safety of contractors andmotorists navigating work zones throughout Wisconsin. As a TrafficControl Technician, you need to be willing to work nights, weekends, andvarying shifts. You need the ability to walk long distances consistentlyand drive for extended periods of time while maintaining a validdriver\'s license and an excellent driving record. This general laborposition also requires the ability to work in differing weatherconditions and the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repetitively,reach overhead, bend, kneel, and twist.
