  This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

  As a TPM Finance Controller -- US, you will be responsible for the full range of controllership disciplines involving financial reporting; planning, consolidations, analysis and financial controls in support of various functional areas in US and APAC TPM (Third-Party Manufacturing) operations encompassing 9 sites globally. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

  What You'll Do

  BUSINESS SUPPORT:

  Provide business support and financial counsel and direction to Functional DVP/Director based on area supported (e.g. Operations, Procurement and Global Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership and business teams.

  This includes support in the establishment of goals; strategies; priorities and tactics.

  FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP:

  Set expectations of the financial organization's role in support of the business strategies, including alignment with other functional organizations.

  Manage the development, consolidations, analysis of Plan, LBEs and actuals of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, headcount, and Capital Authorizations / Cash Flow for areas supported.

  Manage financial accounting and reporting for US/APAC TPM sites including ensuring the accuracy of financial information and related operational metrics including comparisons to appropriate benchmarks.

  Oversee annual standard cost setting process, including TPM material (VAM and CBOM pricing), raw sensor costs, and overhead.

  Oversee Gross Margin Initiatives (GMI) analysis and forecasting, facilitate the Provalido status update with business, and ensure GMIs are accurately captured in LBEs.

  4) Create ad hoc analysis for use in addressing business issues and strategic opportunities.

  Manage and lead a team of 4 analysts supporting 9 TPM sites.

  FINANCIAL CONTROL:

  Establish and maintain internal processes, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial assets and accuracy of financial statements and forecasts in compliance with Division/Corporate financial policies and procedures and SOX requirements.

  Accountable to business and finance DVPs/Directors for accurate and complete financial information in support of operational decisions and maintaining all required internal and external controls and comply with all financial and other requirements (SOX/CFMs/GMP, etc.). Accountable to business and finance DVPs/Directors for accurate and complete financial analysis in support of the Plans, LBEs, and actuals and maintaining all appropriate controls.

  Skills Required:

  Financial expertise: Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and concisely communicate the business implications of forecasts and actual results. Ad hoc analysis and preparation of presentations for senior leadership is a critical component of this role. Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles with the ability to apply this knowledge to support business needs.

  Leadership: This individual will lead directly and indirectly as the key communicator between Operation, Finance and Senior Leadership. Must possess demonstrated leadership skills, including influencing others, and the ability to direct the efforts and development of managers and analysts.

  Communication: This role interfaces with multiple levels within the Operations and the broader ADC organization; excellent communication skills are essential. Interaction with multiple levels of the organization will require demonstrated maturity, professionalism and tactfulness.

  Deliver Results: Candidate must manage multiple priorities and changing customer demands under tight timelines. Ability to effectively manage workload to ensure deadlines are not missed is critical. The individual must be highly motivated and have a desire to innovate and drive productive change. The ability to work effectively in teams, as well as independently, is essential.

  Experience You'll Bring

  Required

  Bachelor’s degree; preferably in finance or accounting. CPA or MBA strongly encouraged.

  Ten or more years of diverse financial experience including factory cost, operations support, FP&A, general accounting, and project support.

  Four or more years of experience at the management level in finance.

  Working knowledge of HFM and SAP (Symphony) are preferred.

  The base pay for this position is $144,100.00 – $288,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
