QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree, required.Full-time or Part-Time Student currently enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a Master's in Public Administration, Master of Business Administration.Desire to participate in local government management.Provides a career development opportunity to gain quality experience working in local government, while making a direct impact in the community. This position typically works closely with the Town Manager and Deputy Town Manager and participates in the Town Manager's Office and departmental projects. Additionally, this position will have the opportunity to shadow positions outside of the Town Manager's office to gain diverse municipal experience.
Exampler of Duties:
Coordinate stakeholders on issues pertaining to the Town Manager's office.Interface with in-house staff on research and assigned projects.Assist in preparing reports.Prepare summaries of meetings and researchAttend meetings and travel as requested by Town and Deputy Town Manager; create reports on proceedings; and analyze and organize business records.Ability and willingness to keep department matters strictly confidential.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and ZoomExcellent Skills to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to work in a fast-paced office and effectively work with time.Detail-oriented and self-motivated.Other duties according to availability and the student's interests.Additional Qualifications:PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe Town of Prosper has reviewed the jobs at its various office and operating sites and determined that many of these jobs require employees to perform essential job functions that pose a direct threat to the safety or health of the employees performing these tasks or others.
