Old Town Trolley Tours is moving theirbase of operation from Boston to Malden where there will beopportunities for interested job seekers to get paid training for CDLlicenses and on how to narrate tours of Boston. Conductors receive \$23per hour pay during approximately 6 weeks of training. Once they passtheir CDL and start giving tours the pay goes to \$24 per hour plus tipsand a \$4,000 signing bonus paid in increments. Training begins in lateJanuary with additional classes starting throughout the winter months sothat all training is completed in time for the tourist season thatbegins in May. ACommercial Drivers license (CDL) with Air Brake & Passenger Endorsementsis required. Tour Guides must be able to drive a non-air-conditionedvehicle, on busy public streets in a safe, competent manner whileentertaining guests by narrating a scripted sightseeing tour. Must beable to board and exit the trolley and assist guests with boarding andexiting the trolley. Must pass annual Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR) checksas required by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Ability to learnand memorize scripted tours and routes as assigned. Ability to read,write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellowemployees, the general public, law enforcement and emergency personnel.Ability to sit for long periods of time and tolerate a wide range oftemperatures and weather conditions Ability to lift up to 50 poundsQualifications Must be at least 21 years old. Must pass a DOT physical.Must have a valid MA CDL with Air Brake & Passenger Endorsements and anacceptable and verifiable driving record of at least three consecutiveyears.
