Job Overview
We are seeking a Tooling Engineer, Electronics and Test Equipment to join our facility in Redmond, Washington (Seattle area).
In our Redmond, WA, site (Seattle area), we fabricate, assemble, and test chemical and electric thrusters, as well as small scale propulsion systems. Our electric propulsion systems enable a wide variety of missions from the exploration of our solar system to global communication and the surveillance of severe weather and wild fires.
Essential Functions
Work hands-on in high reliability production or test environment to design, support and maintain production power electronic and test equipment (from board level through end item test equipment). Document procedures relevant to the manufacture and use of tools designed. Define specifications for tooling needs.
Utilize standard engineering software platforms to develop electrical schematics and drawings. Under general supervision, this will include taking a design from concept through release in document control. Design or rework electrical test equipment, cabling, etc.
Work with engineering staff to determine cost estimates of tooling or hardware. Interface with internal teams to resolve production test issues.
Procure materials and hardware necessary to fabricate tooling. Can include everything from simple fasteners to exotic materials.
Perform design reviews and tool proofs to verify proper form, fit and function.
Work on special improvement projects focused on particular aspects of manufacturing, assembly or testing.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to analyze and solve technical problems in a team environment. Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems preferred Labview or C# experience is a major plus. Electrical test engineering or similar experience, preferably in an aerospace or other high reliability industries is also desired but not required.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $67,500 MIN - $125,500 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
