ATHOL Tool or Die Maker Job Summary: Builds and modifies tools, dies,jigs, molds, and fixtures using precision bench and machiningoperations. Duties & Responsibilities: Conducts tests for completedtools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications Cuts, shapes andtrims blocks to make adjustments Grinds and adjusts different parts toproperly fit them together Selects metals to be used based on propertiesAbility to maintain tight tolerances Ability to read and interpretblueprints. Qualifications: Manual dexterity Detail orientedOrganizational skills Experience with the use Surface GrindersExperience with Manual Bridgeport machining Experience with Manual Lathemachining Experience with General Drill Press work Experience with theuse of Lap Belt machines Education Requirements: PreferredVocational/Technical Education Years of Experience: Minimum 4 years -Maximum of 6 years of experience. Performs work under minimalsupervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only themost complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensiveknowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/ormentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-levelsupervisor. Typically requires accreditation from a technical school oran applicable skilled trades program and 4 to 6 years of experience.
