Tool Maker :

Pay: $32-$44/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tool Maker who is proficient in handling assembly and disassembly of existing tools and performing tool repairs using manual mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, and cylindrical grinders.

The role involves working with multi-cavity, single-cavity, and two-cavity tooling, troubleshooting using CAD and Solidworks software, and conducting tool polishing and cleaning using an ice blaster.

Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting and problem-solving to ensure presses and machinery are operational and using inspection tools to ensure parts meet specifications.

The candidate must have their own tools.

Responsibilities

The Tool and Die Maker III assesses tool condition, troubleshoots complex tools, and works closely with engineering on tooling issues and design improvements

Inspects highly complex tools (molds dies) for damage and wear to assess overall condition

Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts

Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations

Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances on new and existing designs

Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part

Including production machines

Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product

Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machine parts to specifications

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $87000.00/yr.
