DescriptionPOSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supports the Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS) Missile Systems Integrated Product Team All-Up-Round (AUR IPT) Deputy Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (DAPMSE) at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to execute APMSE duties in support of the M-Code ACAT IV program. Duties include identifying potential problems, coordinating specific engineering competency solutions, conducting meetings and conferences, reviewing and commenting on technical data generated during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development through Full Rate Production phases, engineering change proposals, preliminary specification change notices, preparing/reviewing contractor data requirements lists when required, AUR integration and other duties as assigned. Emphasis on systems engineering experience with requirements management, decomposition and verification.
Telework may be considered based on total consideration of applicant's experience, as well as the ability to travel and to implement alternates means of periodic access to classified information as mitigation for being remote from the worksite. Requests for telework are subject to approval of the TWS Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities include:
· Identifying & developing systems engineering and AUR integration requirements
· Ensuring requirements are addressed throughout program development, integration, and test
· Developing and updating system Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
· Coordinating and executing technical data management with NAVAIR Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Prime Contractor representatives
· Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) development
· Review & approval of Technical Data Package (TDP) deliverables
· Technical support for Statement of Work (SOW) development
· Conducting Engineering Investigations
· Providing technical leadership in responding to test and integration deficiencies
· Coordinating with the GPS Directorate
· Coordinates, informs, and communicates efforts with various competencies, IPT members, contractors, subcontractors, and naval field activities
Requirements
MINIMUM TANGIBLE REQUIREMENTS:
· Position requires a MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline.
· ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the “Experience” requirements below, therefore, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
· Experience: At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to naval systems. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.
·Active Secret clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance
