Actively Hiring: Thermal Processing Technician

Description:
This company specializes in the production, packaging, assembly and distribution of high-quality, shelf-stable food products (MRE's) to the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and major branded food companies. This company is in need of a Thermal Processing Technician(also called Thermal Processing Gatekeeper) to help support new projects and increasing customer demand. This position is responsible for thermal process testing and for ensuring all retort deviations were properly identified and placed on hold if required. This role is very important to the process of the organization- they produce over 300 kinds of products. Documentation is crucial and needs to be correct- so this individual needs to have a high level of detail.
As a Thermal Processing Technician, this candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Complete retort record review in compliance with federal regulations
• Conduct heat penetration and temperature distribution testing
• Report any process deviations to proper personnel and document deviation in retort deviation database
• Prepare any necessary equipment and packaging for following day’s testing
• Conduct post process analysis on heat penetration contains, including but not limited to residual airs, drain weights, piece count, and pH tests.
85-90% of time will be record review/documentation
10-15% of time will be conducting testing within retorts/post process analysis within heat penetration. This role will not be based in lab rather than being out on the floor working with the other members of production and thermal team.

Must Haves:
1) H.S. Diploma or GED
2) Minimum 1 year of GMP experience or relevant associates/bachelors degree
3) Mechanical aptitude and lab ability
4) Strong verbal, written, & interpersonal communication skills. As well as, excellent organizational, computer, and critical thinking skills.
5) Ability to work independently while maintaining close communication and collaborative work relationships in cross-functional teams.
6) Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time and work within a fast paced/warmer environment.
