A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A THERAPIST As acounselor, you support clients in our Beacon program with therapeuticcounseling in this integrated school based program. With the informationthat you collected from the assessment, you update diagnosticimpressions and develop a strength based treatment plan. You providepsychotherapy that relates to the established treatment goals. To ensurethat a client is progressing toward their goals, you monitor theirprogress and adjust services as needed in collaboration with thestudent, parents and other providers. You will assure quality,innovative programming, positive collaborative relationships andtherapeutic counseling services in compliance with DHS 35. Beingdetail-oriented, you maintain client files and thoroughly document theevents of the therapeutic process. You also complete paperwork aftereach visit that includes notes and billing. Your position is highlycollaborative and requires ensuring an understanding of program servicesavailable for clients by engaging in public relations, marketing andeducational activities. THERAPIST QUALIFICATIONS Master\'s degree insocial work, counseling, psychology, or a related mental health fieldLicensed clinical social worker (LCSW) or professional counselor (LPC)in the state of Wisconsin 3 years\' experience working in human servicesor related field.
