  DescriptionDEPARTMENT: THE WAY OUT CENTERPOSITION TITLE: LEAD PROGRAM ATTENDANTSTATUS: FULL TIME, NON-EXEMPTSUPERVISOR: THE WAY OUT PROGRAM MANAGERMISSION STATEMENT:The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.SCOPE OF POSITION:The Lead Program Attendant supervises Program Attendants on their shift and ensures safe, orderly operations of The Way Out Center. This position follows policies and procedures for The Way Out Center under the direction of the Assistant Program Manager and/or Program Manager. The Lead Program Attendant provides support, direction, and supervision for The Way Out Center guests. The Lead Program Attendant works with individuals who are struggling with issues related to homelessness, mental health, addiction and/or chronic illness. The Lead Program Attendant is responsible for demonstrating and inspiring hope, trust, and a positive outlook. They will cultivate connections with a broad range of community-based service and support. The Lead Program Attendant will work as a team member to provide safe, stable, temporary housing with supportive services to the guests of the program. The Lead Program Attendant may have contact with public or office environments that may risk exposure to irrational/hostile behavior, typical/extreme weather conditions, contagious parasites/diseases or contact with domestic animals.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or equivalentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Knowledge of social services, local resources, and referrals as appropriatePossess general computer and keyboarding skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), recordkeeping systems or willing to learnEffective verbal and written communicationEffective interpersonal skills with emphasis on effectively working in a team environment and with diverse populationsDemonstrate effective personal and situational awarenessFlexible, relatable, and reliable; manage time effectivelySelf-motivated and work with minimum supervisionBe an active listener by asking questions and reflecting what is being saidMaintain healthy boundaries with guests and fellow staff membersMake decisions based on Established Policies and Procedures manualBuild "Trust"; be consistent, trustworthy and honestOver 21 years of agePossess a Valid WA State Driver LicensePass a Criminal and Driver Background CheckHave or complete De-escalation trainingPeer Support Certification preferred or obtained within 90 days of hireProficiency with CMIS/HMIS software preferredCurrent WA State Food Handler's Card, Bloodborne Pathogen and CPR/First Aid Certification or obtain within 30 days of hireESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:Represent The Salvation Army and respect and work within its Christian tenetsSupervise Program Attendants and guestsMeal Service and/or supervision: set-up, serving and clean-upMaintains electronic shift, trespass, and warning logs as requiredContacts "on call" Supervisor when there is an emergencyAttends required staff meetings and in-service training sessionsEnsure facility provides a safe, clean, and pleasant environmentMaintain required level of security each shiftMaintain TSA facilities for cleanliness and safety from abuse or vandalismEnsure supplies are properly stored/ready for the next Lead Program Attendant or guestComplete documentation and data entry tasks on assigned shifts without delayAnswer and direct calls to appropriate employee or guestMaintain the lobby area and bulletin boardsAssist with seasonal/special even
