Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.SCOPE OF POSITION:Under the supervision of The Way Out Center Program Manager, The Way Out Center Assistant Program Manager will be responsible for all administrative, program management, and personnel functions along with day to day operation of The Way Out Center Program. The Assistant Program Manager may provide outreach, intake services, support, direction, as well as supervision of Program Attendants, Lead Program Attendants, participants, guests, volunteers, and contracted services of The Way Out Center Program. The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for demonstrating and inspiring hope, trust, and a positive outlook. They optimize connections with a broad range of community based services and natural supports. This position follows Policy and Procedures for The Way Out Center under the direction of the Program Manager. The Assistant Program Manger works as a team member to provide safe, stable, temporary housing with supportive services to the participants of the program. The Assistant Program Manager may have contact with the public or office environments that may risk exposure to irrational/hostile behavior, typical/extreme weather conditions, contagious parasites/diseases, and/or contact with domestic animals.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in social work, psychology, or other related field preferredCenter management experience will be considered in lieu of degreeKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Knowledge of social services, local resources, and referrals as appropriatePossess general computer and keyboarding skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), recordkeeping systems or willing to learnEffective verbal and written communicationCapable of observing and communicating effectively with staff, volunteers, program participants, and the communityEffective interpersonal skills effectively working in a team and with diverse populationsCapable of scheduling, performing, and maintaining data entry, contract compliance, budgeting, and reportingSuccessfully participate in TSA Spokane's Employee Development training programDe-escalation trainingOver 21 years of agePossess a Valid WA State Driver LicensePass a Criminal and Driver Background CheckPeer Support Certification preferred or obtained within 90 days of hireHave or complete De-escalation trainingProficiency with CMIS/HMIS software preferredCurrent WA State Food Handler's Card, Bloodborne Pathogen and CPR/First Aid Certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.Experience supervising staff and volunteersExperience working with homeless demographicESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Represent The Salvation Army and respect and work within its Christian tenetsSupervise The Way Out Center employees, participants, and volunteersWorking manager position to offset daily workloads or staffing vacanciesAble to fill-in for absent staff or find replacement staff within budget and reasonRespond to all inquiries within established guidelines; attend meetings as requiredProvide outreach services outside The Way Out Center to recruit program applicantsSchedule/provide guest transportation to/from appointments, meetings, and employment as requiredSupervise facility office management, implementation of procedures, case management and processing, records management, collection and reporting of statistics on a regular basis, quality customer service, budgeting, and accounting functionsTrain The Way Out Center
