About the Department
Student Disability Services (SDS) is located within Campus and StudentLife. SDS is responsible for engaging in an interactive process withstudents to determine their eligibility for reasonable accommodationsunder the Rehabilitation Act Section 504 and the Americans withDisabilities Amendment Act. The SDS team is committed to advancingdisability inclusion in all aspects of campus life through theimplementation of supports, services, and auxiliary aids. Job Summary
This position will report to the Associate Director of StudentDisability Services (SDS) and work collaboratively with the SeniorAccess Coordinator of Proctoring Services; administers the provision oftesting services, as appropriate to students receiving reasonableaccommodations under the Rehabilitation Act Section 504 and ADAincluding; liaise with University IT Services, Facilities, faculty andinstructional staff; area Deans of Students, other academic appointees,and other administrators; ensure the timely arrangement of examaccommodations for eligible students; train and coordinate the effortsof supporting proctoring staff. This position will provideadministrative support for Student Disability Services program; performadministrative responsibilities; assist SDS staff in ensuring the timelyand effective delivery of accommodations to all eligible students. Thisis a 12-month, full-time position; evening hours may be required.
Responsibilities
Ensures that exam accommodations are arranged in a timely andeffective manner for eligible students; and timely confirmation ofthose arrangements with all pertinent parties.Assists with the hiring and training of all proctors to support theimplementation of student exam accommodations.Assists with the coordination and scheduling of proctored exams,including part-time staff workloads and hours.Assists with the management of the physical office space and testlocations, including setting up the testing sites, ordering testingequipment and supplies, as needed.Follows-up with faculty and students regarding exam arrangements.Prints exams, as needed, and serves as the primary exam proctor forSDS exams.Composes, edits and disseminates day-to-day correspondence tofaculty, campus stakeholders and students.Triages email accounts and telephone calls for action pertaining toall associated work assignments. Resolves mostly routine and somecomplex inquiries.Monitors the AIM Testing Module daily for coordinating testingservices.Assists students in the proper use of assistive technology and examtechnology, as necessary.Assists with the coordination logistics and communication of SDSevents and programs, as necessary.Assists with SDS events, special projects, records managementactivities, and the development and maintenance of departmentaldatabases as needed.Assists with the development of SDS policies and procedures whichreflect best practices among peer institutions for testingaccommodations and exam services.Liaise and collaborates with campus stakeholders in the timelyprovision of accommodations for eligible students.Assists with the management and care of computerized devices.Prepare special reports and summaries, assists in managing dailyoperation of the office, and may assist in developing administrativegoals and policies.Coordinates special projects as direct d by the leader. Prepareswrite ups for recommendations for operational and administrativeproblems. Prepares financial and/or administrative reports.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or theequivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have afour-year degree).
